5/7/2004 - Anyone want a 305 GR?
Hi guys, sorry for another long wait. I've had a few people asking me to change their logon details or email addresses on the database. I'm currently working on a new page so you can change those details yourself, I should be able to get it online some time next week.
Now, my GTX is in a bit of a poorly state. About a month ago, the exhaust virtually crumbled away and I got it replaced with a nice, shiny custom built stainless steel job from PowerFlow. I must say, it's well built but does look a little out of place on a 305. After that, the engine started running badly and burning more and more oil. I decided it probably needed a rebuild and then, after looking closely around the whole car, I realised that really it needed a complete strip-down and restoration if I'm ever to get it looking like I want. So, I've reluctantly pulled it off the road for some serious repair work.
However, I already have one 305 off the road - a 1985 'B' reg GR and I need to get rid of it. I'd be willing to give it away free to someone who'd be prepared to restore it, or simply had the space to properly break it for spares and make the most out of all of the parts rather than just scrap it. See the discussion board for details.
Anyway, to keep me on the road, I've bought a sporty motor pretty cheaply - a Porsche 924! It's a lot of fun but, hey, it's not a 305, is it?

3/9/2004 - Long overdue update...
Hi everyone, well I thought it was about time I updated the news page here. I've been pretty busy lately and I just haven't had the time to update anything here, or even answer many emails from people - so I'd just like to apologise to everyone who may be waiting for updates here or a reply from me. I don't get any money for running this website - it was never the intention for me to do so - but this means that I simply cannot dedicate an amount of time each day to running it.. thus, sometimes things get left unfinished - I forget to reply to emails, etc.
With that in mind, I'd just like to pass on a quick message from 'Tony', in Cornwall (England) who emailed me nearly two weeks ago! He has a 1987 305 SRD Estate with 98000 miles on the clock that he wants to swap for a motorcycle if possible. He also told me that he has another 305 for spares if anyone wants it. Hopefully, it's still there. His email address is: sarah@tony007.freeserve.co.uk . In future, I'll direct anyone wishing to advertise a car for sale to do so via the message board.

12/3/2003 - Latest stuff
Well, last week I found out that the 'My Details' page wasn't working correctly, so I've fixed it. If you're logged in, click on the My Details link on the right and you can add some simple information about your car. I have some more additions in the pipeline which will enable everyone to write more about their cars, but it may be a while until it's online.
The main reason it may be a while is that I'm travelling to Peru over Christmas and New Year's - I'm gonna be out of the country for a month and won't be back until the 10th January. I probably won't have much time to make any further changes to the site until then (sorry!).

11/9/2003 - Site changes
Ok, the site upgrade seems to have worked quite well - there are a few bugs left to iron out but I think now is as good time to explain some of the changes going on. Basically, I've removed the old register system and replaced it with the new login system you can see on the right. What I'm trying to do is a build a system on this website which can act as the beginnings of a proper membership system. Right now, I've restricted posting on the discussion board so that you need to login. So, you'll need to sign up and then login in order to post. Don't worry, there are no charges for this. Once you're logged in, you can add details about your car. This does mean that if you signed up on the old register, you will need to sign up again - although I still have the old register on file. If anyone has any problems signing up or logging in, please email me with details of the problem. Thanks.

11/6/2003 - Site: update
I have most of the code working as required now, but I'm still waiting for the www.peugeot305.co.uk domain to be transferred onto the new servers so that it doesn't get redirected - this is causing problems with the log in system, so the site won't be fully functional until tomorrow (when *hopefully*, the domain will be transferred).
Once everything is up and running, I'll post about the changes on the site.

11/5/2003 - Latest news
OK, well anyone who checked the site earlier today will have noticed that it was down for a while. I've transferred to a better webhosting system and during this change, I'm also upgrading parts of the website. I expect things won't work properly over the next 48 hours, whilst I wait for my domain to be transferred and also while I keep testing things. I'm sorry for the delays - hopefully everything will be back to normal by the weekend.

11/2/2003 - Upcoming changes
Well, after quite a long break, I'm back coding extra stuff for the website - including a new system for the owner's register. Basically, it'll make use of the login system you can see in the top right corner of this page. Most of the code is now working, but I've had to upgrade our web hosting to get it all working. This is gonna take a few days, but hopefully everything will go smoothly and I'll have the updates online later this week.

3/25/2003 - Official Announcement and new 305 service plan
You might notice the change in the title of this website. Yes, we are in the process of setting up as an International Club for Peugeot 305 owners! As I have been saying over previous news posts, Enrico and myself are compiling new material for the website. My progress has been slowed by a series of computer problems, but I think I've got it sorted now. Look out for more changes coming soon.
Also, Enrico has made a service plan for XU-engined Mk2 305's. I've added it to the 'Technical' section of the website. It's definitely worth a read if you want to keep your 305 in good condition!

3/10/2003 - Updates coming online
I've uploaded some changes to the discussion board today. The board now only shows threads that have had a new post within the last 14 days, although you can still view old threads by clicking the 'View All Messages' link. The board should now be running much faster. I'll be adding more updates in the coming weeks - stay tuned.

2/12/2003 - Exciting new 305 photographs!
Enrico sent these two photographs over to me, taken from Christophe Leverdier's Peugeot 505 website. They clearly show an official Peugeot 305 V6 prototype! Apparently, this car was designed for rallying, although obviously Peugeot eventually decided to use the 205 as a rally car base (making the legendary 205 Turbo16). Click the images below to see the full pictures. Unfortunately, we don't have any more images at this time - if anyone has any further information, please send it this way!

2/6/2003 - Site update
Well, once again, it's been a while since I updated this page. I've had some serious computer problems that have resulted in me losing all my emails from the middle of January, back until maybe the start of last year. This means that I've lost some of the Peugeot 305 photographs that have been sent to me in recent months. If you have sent something to me, please resend it.
I have added a few more photographs today, some showing my fuel injection conversion and respray, plus some photographs of a restored 305 GT and a 305 Van! Take a look in the images section for the pictures.
On other news, Enrico and myself are planning to do quite a few things for the 305 community in the coming months. I have a lot of improvements to the website in the pipeline, and we are working to put more into the community. We should have more information for you in near future.

9/30/2002 - My GTX gets a new coat of paint!
Again, it's been a while. I've been busy working on respraying my car. I am now hard at work on writing up both the respray and the fuel injection conversion, I should have them finished soon. In the meantime, check out these pics:

8/4/2002 - Website update
Once again, I've been pretty busy in the past few weeks. I uploaded a few changes to the website today, plus some pictures of Shane Sloan's Peugeot 305 Turbo Diesel van! I'm going to be making a few more changes to the website soon (just minor updates).
On a different note, there has been some discussion going about the coming 25th anniversary of the Peugeot 305. To mark the occasion, it's been suggested that Peugeot 305 owner's should travel to Sochaux; the town where Peugeot 305's were built. Currently, this visit is in the planning stages - if you would like to come, please post your views about this meeting on the discussions board.

6/27/2002 - Overdue update
I've been really busy recently, which has slowed progress on my site - however, I have a number of planned updates in the next week or so. For now, I've added a bunch of extra 305 pictures, which you can find in the 'Images' section of the website. Look out for my report on converting my 305 GTX to fuel injection, which should be ready soon!
Also, I'd just like to say a quick 'thanks' to Derek Selden, who I visited last Sunday. He gave me some spares from his crashed 305 Automatic, which I'll be able to use on my GTX.

5/27/2002 - New stuff
Well, not much extra this week - I've just added another diary entry, plus Mike Wood from Worcester, UK, has posted on the discussion boards about his 305 GTX which he sadly must part with. Check out the post and get in contact with him if you are interested.

5/20/2002 - Discussion Forum and 305 Diary online
Big update today. My Peugeot 305 diary system is now online - click on the diary link on the right and take a look. If you would like to keep a diary about your 305 on my site, please let me know. Secondly, click on the 'discussions' link over on the right and introduce yourself on the messageboard. The board is still in it's early stages, but it's all working. Eventually, I'll get it linked in with the register.

5/4/2002 - The Peugeot 305 Owner's Register
I received an email recently from a 305 owner in Italy (hi Enrico!), who has agreed to help out with setting up this 305 owner's register I mentioned in my last news post. Now I have some support, I've set up a page on this website in order to collect some basic details about 305 owners. The hope is to create a worldwide community of 305 owners, so that we can share information and ideas about the 305. If this interests you, click the link to the right and enter your details!

4/3/2002 - Finally another update!
Well, I've been a bit busy recently, but I am still gathering together more information about the Peugeot 305, which I hope to have online as soon as I can (this month hopefully). Check the 'Technical' section for some a new page detailing some of the Peugeot 305's evolutionary changes over the years.
NOTE: I am currently considering setting up some sort of register of Peugeot 305 owners - please email me if you own a 305, with details about your car and I'll add you to a list. If I get enough interest, then I'll start up a section for people to write about their 305's (and possibly other cars.. but we'll see).

1/30/2002 - Technical section updated
The model overview has now been updated so that it can provide more in-depth information. Click the 'Technical' link on the left and take a look.

1/28/2002 - More stuff online
I have started compiling some of the data I have on the 305 range into a database - go to the 'technical' section to gain access to the model overview pages.
Posted by: Chris Barnard
1/21/2002 - More images added
I uploaded some more images today - I'll start work on getting rid of the rest of those 'under construction' pages now.
Posted by: Chris Barnard
1/16/2002 - Site still under construction
I am currently working on the rest of the site, most of it should be up soon. Check out the 'images' section for something new to look at.
Peugeot News: My 305 GTX passed it's MoT after requiring some welding work to the offside sill (ouch). Two days later, some idiot vandal smashed my wing mirror, pulled it off and deposited it on the ground. I have temporarily used my old GR's mirror until I find a suitable GTX replacement mirror.

11/27/2001 - Site Up!
The Peugeot 305 site is up and running! Some of the sections are not currently working, but they should come online soon.
